Muriel Lilley

It is with sadness that we have to report that Muriel Lilley passed away on Monday 6 June 2016.

Many of you will have known her as she played for the County,  was a member of both Doddington and BRAZA clubs and also held the post of Secretary of the CSMBA.

Muriel's funeral will be held at 1.15 pm on Monday 20 June at the Centenary Baptist Church, High Street, March. Family flowers only but donations will be given to St John's Ambulance.

Our condolences go to her family at this time.

Cambs Ladies v England Ladies

On Sunday 2 October 2016 the Cambridgeshire Ladies team travelled to Staffordshire to play the England team.

On arrival we were welcomed by Lynn Dean, the England Captain.  After team photos and the line up we began playing games of triples and fours.  We had a fantastic day's bowling and enjoyed some brilliant games a lot of which were much closer than the score reflected.  It was a tiring day for all the ladies after getting up very early and everyone playing four games but everybody had a great time.

The England Ladies each presented a Cambridgeshire player with a personalised England Ladies notebook and pen.  A memento to be treasured for the future (I imagine a lot will end up in bowls bags!).

We are in the process of arranging several games for 2017:

Home and Away against Norfolk
Home and Away against Suffolk
Neutral Venue (Daventry) to play Bristol/Avon
Home and Away against England

If any other ladies reading this report would like to be considered for the team please contact me.
