On the 20 Jan 2024 the Cambs ladies played their annual home game against Suffolk. It was a pleasure to see the Suffolk team and to catch up with all the ladies from our area. The atmosphere between both teams was very friendly and competitive from the start. The gameplay was also very equal.
We made a very positive start from the first round but by the end of round three the scores were level at 9/9. The same pattern continued but at the end of round 5 the scores were 18/12 to us.
The team were aware going into round 6 that the match was tight and if we lost all games in the round the day would come down to shots. The final score came down to the team that was still playing on mat 1. We were one up on the last end ensuring that the squad won by one shot overall. This made it a very exciting end to a scoreline that may never be repeated again.
