Cambridgeshire travelled to Solihull to play Gloucester for the knockout plate quarter-final on Saturday 17th February. The opposition was a good team with several England players.
Overall both teams gained four bonus points and we won ours in the singles and triples disciplines.
We achieved 5 points in the singles, 2 points in pairs, 8 points in the triples and 4 in the fours. The final score was Cambridgeshire 19 points and 190 shots with Gloucestershire on 21 points and 185 shots. It was a nail-biting finish to the day and time was taken recounting the points and shots before the final announcement.
One or two shots more in a couple of crucial games and we would have won overall but it was an excellent day of bowling and a learning curve for the next season. Many thanks to the players who came in at the last minute.
