Cambridgeshire Short Mat Bowls

On the 5th November the County Premier team travelled to play the Norfolk team at Hingham.  We knew in advance that we were going to have the toughest game ever, the opposing team are from a considerably larger County and contains several England players.

All 4 singles games were tense battles and we gained 3 points from a win and 1 draw.  The pairs, triples and fours played and all games were fought to the last wood.  We suffered, however, from the opposition either being one step ahead at times, getting the shot in before us or removing our holding wood.  Losing was not nice but it was an enjoyable day played in a very competitive spirit.  The score was 6-34.
