Match Report - 15 Feb 2026, Cambridgeshire Short Mat Bowls County Premier Team lost to GLOUCESTERSHIRE
15th February 2026, the ICC plate knock out commenced with our match against Gloucestershire at Solihull . The squad worked hard throughout the day in an effort to secure an overall win.
Unfortunately, the singles and triples were unable to record any wins. However , both pairs performed exceptionally well, winning all there games and securing the full bonus points (10 points). One of the fours team also bowled strongly winning both thee games and gaining the bonus points ( 6 points ).
Gloucestershire proved to be a more polished and well organised squad. Teamwork is a vital element in achieving success, and on this occasion the opposition had the edge. This is an area we can focus on improving ahead of next season.
Had we secured a couple more wins in the other disciplines the result could have easily have gone our way. The final result was a narrow defeat of 24 - 16, with a close shot difference 181 - 198.
