Our first game this season was against Suffolk ladies. This took place just as the government removed all the COVID restrictions. A member of our team and several of the opposition had to be substituted at short notice due to catching the latest variant of the virus. We had a lovely day with 15 Cambs ladies playing triples with two other Cambs ladies playing for the opposition due to the last minute virus problems.
The day began well with us winning most of the games in the first two rounds. Then we had a dip in rounds 3 and 4, coming back in round 5 to win 18 points to 12.
Thanks to be given to Derek Adams who organised the Suffolk team, all Cambs players and those who helped in any way. It was also lovely to see past and present players as spectators at our games.
