Thirteen teams were assembled to play in a charity triples match held at MIBC on Saturday 22nd July. Proceeds from the event were to be donated to ‘Cancer Care and Treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn (More commonly known as the Macmillan Unit).
Over 5 rounds all teams played 4 matches, each over 10 live ends so a good long day of short mat bowls.
Teams were allocated numbers by way of open draw and congratulations to Josie Charter who managed not to be the usual last player in attendance.
Prizes were awarded to the top 3 placed teams.
1) Lynn and David Bignall & David Wilcox : 8 points with a shot difference of + 43.
2) Maureen Bell, Josie Charter & Roly Fincham: 8 points with a shot difference of + 22
3) Steph and Barry Stanford & Malcolm Spriggs: 6 points with a shot difference of +15.
The raffle made an amazing £150.00 profit and the Brandy bottle squares a further £50.00.
After a few donations and refreshment proceeds were added, the CSMBA made up the total amount to be donated a round £300.00.
Cheque number 101511 will shortly be forwarded to the fund raising office at QE Hospital to be allocated to the Macmillan Centre.
