County Triples Championship

Twelve teams entered this year's county championship and national qualifier.  Seven teams had pre-entered the national qualifier.  The twelve teams were divided into three groups by way of open draw. The top two teams from each group would go into the quarter finals along with the two highest losers across all three groups.
Following some excellent bowls and tight games the groups finished as follows:-

Group 1 winners were Jayne Thorpe, Rob Bonello & Kevin Stanford; 6 points and S/D of +19.
Group 1 runners up were Dawn Fincham, Lynn and John Boddye: 2 points and S/D of +1

Group 2 winners were Brenda and Charlie Waling and Jane Stanford: 4 points and S/D of +7
Group 2 runners up were Steph and Barry Stanford and Rob Lawton : 4 points and S/D of +2

Group 3 winners were Maureen Bell, Josie Charter and David Wilcox: 6 points and S/D of +15
Group 3 runners up were Bill Harrison, Derek Retchless and Joe Peters: 4 points and S/D of + 5

The two highest losers across all 3 groups were:
HL1 : Linda White, Phil and Hazel Spry: 3 points with a S/D of zero.
HL2 : Val Ware, Mary Fox and Wayne Locke: 2 points with a S/D of -4

Quarter Finals

 Mat 2 : Jayne Thorpe, Rob Bonello and Kevin Stanford beat Linda White, Phil and Hazel Spry 9 shots to 3.

Mat 3 : Val Ware, Mary Fox and Wayne Locke beat Brenda and Charlie Waling and Jane Stanford 10 shots to 7.

Mat 4 : Maureen Bell, Josie Charter and David Wilcox beat Dawn Fincham, Lynn and John Boddye 13 shots to 3.

Mat 5 : Bill Harrison, Derek Retchless and Joe Peters beat Steph and Barry Stanford and Rob Lawton 14 shots to 6.

Semi- Finals
Both Semi-finals were incredibly close and tightly fought.
Mat 2 : Val Ware, Mary Fox and Wayne Locke beat Bill Harrison, Derek Retchless and Joe Peters 7 shots to 5.

Mat 5 : Maureen Bell, Josie Charter and David Wilcox beat Jayne Thorpe, Rob Bonello and Kevin Stanford 9 shots to 8.

The final was a lot closer than the score suggested and was finally won by Maureen Bell, Josie Charter and David Wilcox who beat Val Ware, Mary Fox and Wayne Locke by 11 shots to 6.

The 3/4th play off place was won by Bill Harrison, Derek Retchless and Joe Peters who beat Jayne Thorpe, Rob Bonello and Kevin Stanford 8 shots to 5.

The winners and 4th place teams had entered the national qualifiers and the result sheet submitted to the ESMBA reflects those positions.

Prizes were award by the vice-chairman Mr Charlie Waling and Maureen Bell holds the
triples trophy for yet another year.

Following a highly successful raffle the event after all costs including ESMBA fees, realised a total profit of £63.30 towards CSMBA funds.
