The
chairman Mr Barry Fox presided over an excellent drive which
attracted good interest from our members.
Unfortunately
a few members withdrew due to illness but we still fielded 44 members
for the days drive. All members who paid entrance fees and then for
unforeseen reasons had to withdraw, will be sent full refunds in
accordance with our current policy.
This
year all entrants played at the same time in a combination of 2 wood
triples and 3 wood pairs on eight mats across what was initially
intended as four rounds
The
chairman had organised the buffet supplied by local caterers, and
although it turned up a little later than planned it was great to see
members unanimously agreeing to play an extra round whilst waiting
for lunch.
The
buffet costs were met in full by the CSMBA and although this means
that overall we made a loss on the day its only right that members
who support the county competitions have the opportunity of being
rewarded.
This
drive was organised whereby teams sorted themselves out as to playing
position which appeared to work very well, and amazingly we were
constantly ahead of planned timings.
The
final scores were incredibly close and at the end of play the
chairman presented some nice boxes of biscuits to the top four
places.
1st
Charlie Waling with 59 shots
2nd
Peter Johnson with 57 shots
3rd
Rosemary Richardson with 55 shots.
4th
Steph Stanford with 51 shots.
Another
very good raffle on the day and thank you to all those who generously
donated prizes and purchased plenty of tickets.
Finally
I would like to thank those members (not just those members of the
committee that were at the event) who without prompting turned up
early to help with the setting out of mats and were still there at
the end of the day to pack the equipment up again.
Thank
you again to all those members who contributed to a great day.
