CSMBA : County Club Triples.
Sunday 12th October 2025.
We
had 10 teams from 7 affiliated clubs that entered the inaugural
county club triples competition.
This
was an unusual competition but very much enjoyed by all participants.
Matches
were played over 7 rounds with all teams playing all rounds and this
was a welcome alternative to those members who sit out rounds in
other formats.
Teams
arrived and played in club colours and it was nice to see the
camaraderie between team players and their opposition. A very good
day all round.
Following
the 7 rounds surprisingly no team won all games and scoring was
close.
The
final placings were recorded as follows:
1st
Team Gorefield 2 made up of Billy Chapman, Peter Griffiths & Mike
Carter with 12 points and a shot difference of + 30.
2nd
Team Gorefield 1 made up of Steph & Barry Stanford with Malcolm
Spriggs with 11 points and a shot difference of + 19.
3rd
Team Walpole Highway 1 made up of Maureen Bell, David Wilcox and Roly
Fincham with 9 points and a shot difference of + 25.
Following
a very successful raffle the event returned a total £115.70 for CSMBA funds following all deductions.
On
the day we received a lot of positive comments about the format and
competition type so hopefully we will run it again in 2026.
