SUNDAY 19TH APRIL 2026 ‘AUSSIE
PAIRS’
A credible 24 teams entered this
competition and although we had three call-off through illness these
places were quickly filled by other members, so we had the full 48
members attend and enjoy a good day of short mat bowls.
I am very grateful to Ann Stephens,
Margaret Ward and Dave Bignall for agreeing to play at short notice
and helping us out.
The format was over 6 rounds and with
each match over 9 live ends the rounds were taking almost 75 minutes
to complete.
We had some good close matches and at
the end of the day just 4 teams achieved the maximum 6 points.
The chairman Mr Barry Fox presented
the prizes. However before handing awards to the winning teams, he
handed boxes of biscuits to Sharon and Alan Bingham who were the
first entrants to the competition entering within 10 hours of the
adverts being sent out.

2nd Roly Fincham &
David Wilcox: 6 points with a shot difference of +25
3rd Jayne Thorpe & Rob
Bonello : 6 points with a shot difference of +18
4th Peter Griffiths &
Billy Chapman : 6 points with a shot difference of +16
After yet another successful raffle
and all deductions the event returned an excellent profit of £201.00 towards
CSMBA funds.
The next CSMBA members entry event is
also at March IBC and will be a 3 wood pairs format to be held on
Sunday 24th May 2026.
